Tell us what you are seeing, overflow, sagging or a leak at the corner, and we will get back to you.
The roof's last line of defense
A roof sheds water, but the gutters decide where that water ends up. When they are pitched wrong, clogged, pulling loose or simply too small for the roof above them, rain spills over the edge and lands right against the foundation, soaks the fascia boards and splashes back onto siding.
Because we are roofers first, we look at gutters as part of the roof system, not a separate add-on. We check how the gutter sits under the drip edge, whether the slope actually carries water to the downspouts, how many downspouts the roof needs, and where each one lets out.
From there we fix what can be fixed and replace what cannot. Sometimes that means rehanging a sagging run and resealing a few seams. Sometimes the honest answer is a new gutter line, especially when a roof is being replaced at the same time.
What to watch for
Gutter trouble tends to show up on the ground before anyone looks up. Walk around the house during a good rain and you will learn a lot.
- Water spilling over the front edge. Usually a clog, a bad slope, or a gutter too small for the roof feeding it.
- Sagging runs or gaps at the fascia. Hangers have let go, and the weight of water and debris pulls the gutter further away every storm.
- Drips at seams and corners. Failed sealant lets water stream down the siding instead of into the downspout.
- Wet basement or washed-out mulch. Downspouts letting out too close to the foundation, or not doing their job at all.
- Soft, stained or peeling fascia boards. Water has been getting behind the gutter for a while, and the wood is paying for it.
Homes under big trees, like many around Hummelstown and Hershey, fill their gutters faster and see these problems sooner.

Roof edges done right
"Chris did a thorough and professional job inspecting our roof. He arrived earlier than expected, took the time to walk me through what he found, and explained everything in terms I could easily understand. He checked all the key areas; shingles, flashing, and gutters and gave me honest, straightforward recommendations."
Can my gutters be repaired, or do they need replacing?
Often a sagging run can be rehung and leaking seams resealed. If the gutters are badly bent, rusted through or the wrong size for the roof, we will tell you a replacement makes more sense.
Should I do gutters when I replace my roof?
It is a good time to look at them, since the roof edge is already open. We check their condition and give you an honest recommendation either way.
Is the estimate free?
Yes. We look at the gutters and roof edge, explain what we find and give you a price with no obligation.
Why is water getting into my basement?
Downspouts that let out too close to the house are a common cause. We look at where each one drains and how to move water away from the foundation.
